Each spring,
the American
Psychological
Association's
Division of
Psychoanalysis,
or Division
39, sponsors
a national
conference.
The Spring
Meeting
hosts
renowned
psychoanalysts,
offers
scholarly
presentations
and
thought-provoking
discussions,
and includes
fun social
events that
provide
wonderful
opportunities
for
networking
with
colleagues
from across
the U.S. and
abroad.
The meeting
is open to
interested
professionals
from all
mental
health
disciplines
and offers a
reduced
registration
fee for
graduate
students and
institute
candidates.
In 2009,
we're
fortunate
that the
Spring
Meeting will
be in San
Antonio,
reducing
travel costs
for local
participants.
The theme
for 2009 is
"Viva
Psychoanalysis!
Finding
Connections
from Couch
to Culture."
The
conference
begins on
Thursday
morning,
April 23rd
and
continues
until Sunday
afternoon,
April 26th.
The keynote
presenters
are:
Salman
Akhtar, MD,
Wilma Bucci,
PhD, and
Haydee
Faimberg,
MD.
In addition
to the
keynote
speeches,
there are at
least four
choices of
panels to
attend for
each
remaining
time slot,
two slots in
the morning
and two in
the
afternoon,
Fri. Sat.
and Sun.
Wednesday,
April 22nd
is the
pre-conference
CE day and
people may
attend those
workshops
for an
additional
registration
fee.
The meeting
is being
co-hosted by
ASPP and San
Antonio
Society for
Psychoanalytic
Studies
(SASPS). The
program
